After the stunning success of the Sevilla-show Olé at the "Festival Oudemuziek" in Utrecht, Dietrich Henschel's season 2024/2025 starts following up the Schönberg event series for his 150th anniversary: the fantastic Ode to Napoleon, a flamboyant statement against dictators and fascism, will be performed in September at the "Festival 20·21 - open mind, open ears" in Leuven and at the "Oxford Song Festival“ in October, the giant oratory Gurrelieder takes place at the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles with Maestro Zubin Mehta and the LA Philharmonic. Further in the season are Lied Recitals with Schönbergs vocal works (among others at the Schönberg Center, Vienna).
Other highlights of the season are Beethoven's Missa Solemnis with Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège , Britten’s War Requiem at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Florence.
At the end of the season, Henschel will appear in two different projects at the "Styriarte“ Graz: at the Unesco World Heritage „Schloss Eggenberg“. He will be participating in the great baroque opera Gl’Incantesimi disciolti by Antonio Draghi and, as a theatre project, at the Attems Saga at the Styriarte Palace „Palais Attems“, both projects with the acclaimed opera troupe ATHOUSE 17, Graz, the same which performed the above-mentioned show Olé.
